Regional Y2K Conference for
Contingency Planning October 03-05,1999 - Ohrid (St. Naum) GENERAL INFORMATION Background In purpose to increase and to exchange the experience in contingency planning in particular sectors - Health, Transport and Tax Administration of the region, the Government of Macedonia through Ministry of Science organized the Regional Y2K Conference for Contingency Planning. The responsible bodies for the organizing the conference were National Committee 2000 and Y2K Co-ordination Unit from Republic of Macedonia with the financial support of the World Banks infoDev Conference Scholarship Fund for the Year 2000 Initiative (iCSF-Y2K). The following 29 countries were invited to
participate the Conference: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,
Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Republic of Macedonia,
Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkey,
Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. 13 Countries from mentioned managed to come and take a place on this Regional meeting. Every present country had 10 minutes presentation of their Y2K situation and experience in contingency planning globally and particularly choosing one of the mention sectors as Health, Transport and Tax Administratio, besides useful presentation about contingency planning in the sectors, from experts from Europe and USA. The Regional Y2K Conference for Contingency planning took place on October 03-05, 1999 by the lake Ohrid, Macedonia in St. Naum Hotel .
